WWF Survivor Series 1999
Our opening video package starts with J.R. calling this one of the most infamous PPVs in the WWF. Then it begins hyping up the WWF Title match, with everything that's lead to this point.
We're live from the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. As always, J.R. and the King at ringside for commentary, who welcome us to the show before we get to the first match of the night.
Traditional 4-on-4 Survivor Series Tag Team Match: The Godfather, D'Lo Brown & The Headbangers vs The Dudley Boyz & The Acolytes
Pre-Match Notes & Thoughts; Everyone on Godfather's team come out looking like pimps, the Headbangers especially with giant afros. Bubba gets on the mic and asks if Godfather is gonna offer them any of his hos. The hos are clearly reluctant, and Godfather mocks Bubba's stutter with a no.
Bubba and Mosh start things out with some quick back and forth, Bubba ripping off the afro in the middle of it, Mosh gets the upper hand with a couple of hip tosses and a back drop. Boots and chops in the corner, Bubba whipped across the followed by a hip attack, premature celebration by Mosh which allows Bubba to nail the clothesline. D-Von gets the tag now with rights, Mosh sent off the ropes but gets D-Von with a dropkick, then an arm drag into an arm lock. Thrasher gets the tag now, D-Von sent off the ropes as Thrasher comes off the middle rope with a clothesline, cover and a kick out.
D-Von sent off the ropes into a hip toss, then a jawbreaker, sent off the ropes again, ducks a clothesline and nails one of his own. Bradshaw tags himself in, sent off the ropes into a back drop and a dropkick. Now Bradshaw sends Thrasher face first into the corner, only to be whipped across the ring, sidesteps and Thrasher hits it chest first, Bradshaw comes off the ropes with the Clothesline from Hell for the first elimination.
Team Dudleyz 4, Team Godfather 3
Mosh off the top rope with a crossbody, cover and a two count. Mosh ducks a clothesline, off the ropes into a big boot. Farooq gets the tag, Mosh sent off the ropes into a double shoulder block, covers but Mosh kicks out. Mosh sent into the corner but sidesteps, following up with an arm drag and a dropkick. Mosh face first into Bradshaw's boot and D-Von tags in, Mosh sent into the corner but sidesteps a charge by D-Von, who hits the corner chest first, then draped over the middle rope as Mosh drops his hips across the back and neck. Mosh gets a side headlock until D-Von gets to the ropes, Bubba tags himself in as Mosh is sent off the ropes right into a 3D for the second elimination.
Team Dudleyz 4, Team Godfather 2
D'Lo in now drops Bubba with right hands, Bubba sent off the ropes into a forearm. Bubba scoop slammed then a leg drop, cover and Bubba kicks out. Right hands and stomps in the corner, D'Lo knocks Bradshaw off the apron before going back at Bubba, which pisses Bradshaw off and he grabs a chair from ringside. He cracks D'Lo in the back, then his own partner Bubba in the head with it, so he's eliminated due to disqualification.
Team Dudleyz 3, Team Godfather 2
D-Von comes in and covers D'Lo even though no tag has been made while the ref argues with Godfather, then Farooq kicks D-Von off. They argue, then D-Von covers only for Farooq to nail a leg drop to the back of D-Von's head. Farooq covers and then D-Von pulls him off, knocking Farooq to the outside and they start fighting up the aisle. Bubba covers D'Lo but he kicks out. Bubba goes for a suplex but D'lo slips out, goes for a roll up but walks into a sidewalk slam for a cover and a near fall. J.R. tells us that apparently Farooq and D-Von have eliminated each other by walking out, so. D'Lo ducks a right hand from Bubba and delivers the Sky High for a pin but Bubba kicks out. D'Lo picks Bubba up to the top rope, goes for a hurricanrana, but Bubba turns it into a sitout powerbomb, makes the cover but D'Lo kicks out. D'Lo sent off the ropes and ducks a clothesline, but they take each other out with a clothesline.
Bubba goes to make a tag but realizes he's all alone as Godfather gets the tag, clotheslines for Bubba and a scoop slam, followed by a leg drop off the ropes. Bubba sent into the corner and Godfather delivers the Ho Train. Bubba falls to his back as D'Lo tags in, goes up top and hits the Lo Down for the win 9:37. This was alright to start but it quickly just became a bit of a mess. Oh well, not a bad way to start the show I suppose.
The hos join Godfather and D'Lo for some celebrating as Bubba makes his exit and we go to replays. They all make their way to the back before J.R. leads us into a video package for the debuting Kurt Angle, putting him over as an Olympic gold medalist, his amateur accomplishments, and the most celebrated real athlete in WWF history.
Shawn Stasiak vs Kurt Angle
Pre-Match Notes & Thoughts: Stasiak is out first and J.R. and King put him over, bringing up how he's the son of the late Stan "The Man" Stasiak, former WWWF Champion and master of the Heart Punch. Fink announces Kurt as the only Olympic gold medalist to ever grace a WWF ring, making his WWF debut, and the most celebrated real athlete in WWF history.
Lock up and a fireman's carry by Kurt. Quick back and forth until Kurt gets a waistlock take down into a front facelock, but Shawn escapes into a hammerlock, then Kurt himself, now Shawn with an armlock. Kurt fights back to his feet and we get more back and forth until Kurt delivers a scoop slam and a belly to belly overhead suplex. Right hands by Shawn, Kurt reverses a whip off the ropes but Shawn ducks a clothesline and delivers one of his own before he starts stomping away. Angle face first into the corner, Shawn with boots to the midsection and choking, before Kurt is whipped across the ring and rebounds into a sidewalk slam. Suplex by Shawn, float over into a cover and a kick out.
Kurt sent off the ropes into a reverse elbow, cover and a kick out followed by a rear chinlock. Kurt fights back up and out, right hands, Shawn sent off the ropes into a clothesline. Kurt leaves the ring and grabs a mic and tells the fans they can't boo an Olympic gold medalist, calling himself the best in the world, that he came for them, then goes back in the ring. Shawn with a boot and rights and stomps, Kurt sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline and hits an enziguri of sorts, only for Shawn to bring him back down with a rear chinlock. Kurt fights out again, Shawn reverses a whip off the ropes, goes for a tilt-a-whirl but Kurt slips out, sends Shawn off the ropes but drops Kurt with a shoulder block. Shawn stomps away some more, but walks into an inside cradle but kicks out. Kurt sends him off the ropes into a powerslam, cover and a kick out.
Shawn reverses a whip off the ropes, catches Kurt on his shoulders and hits something akin to an F5 and a flapjack combo, then Shawn goes up top, only to miss a crossbody. Angle capitalizes with the Angle Slam for the win in 5:57. This match felt longer than it was, crowd were definitely not into this either. Wasn't terrible per se, Kurt looked good in his debut match which is what matters, but still.
Kurt celebrates in the corner and leaves the ring as we get a replay and he heads to the back.
We see footage from Heat where HHH called out Rock and Austin ahead of tonight's title match and a fight broke out as DX tried to ambush them, only for it to backfire completely.
Traditional 4-on-4 Survivor Series Tag Team Match: Val Venis, Mark Henry, Gangrel & Steve Blackman vs The British Bulldog (WWF European Champion) & The Mean Street Posse (Pete Gas, Joey Abs & Rodney)
Pre-Match Notes & Thoughts: There's a bit of dialogue between J.R. and King as Val and Henry come out. J.R. says that there's nothing in common in this team, while King points out that both Val and Henry love the ladies. J.R. quips that he's sure all these men are heterosexual in response, which made me laugh for some reason.
Bulldog and Val start this out with some back and forth, with Val getting the upper hand with a hip toss. Bulldog retreats to the wrong corner, then ducks a clothesline to retreat to the right corner to tag in Pete... only to tag Bulldog back in after Val flexes. Val goes for a suplex but gets reversed. Now Pete in and stomps away, rights traded back and forth until Val sends him of the ropes, only to be tripped up and catapulted into the corner, into a back suplex, cover and a two count. Pete with boots in the corner, Val reverses a whip across the ring, then follows with a bulldog. Blackman gets the tag and takes Pete down with a dropkick. Pete sent off the ropes into a bicycle kick for the first elimination.
Team Val 4, Team Bulldog 3
Rodney in now, ducks a bicycle kick and delivers a clothesline, then clubs the back and delivers an elbow drop, misses a second. Rodney sent off the ropes into a clothesline, then Gangrel tags in. Rodney face first into the corner and Gangrel with some right hands, Rodney sent across the ring, then again, but catches Gangrel with a crucifix pin for a near fall, then Gangrel down with a clothesline. Rodney face first into the corner, then reverses a whip off the ropes into a shot from Joey. Rodney holds up Gangrel as the ref is occupied in the other corner, but Gangrel gets free and Joey clocks Rodney instead before being knocked off the apron. Gangrel nails the impaler DDT for the second elimination.
Team Val 4, Team Bulldog 2
Joey nails Gangrel from behind then a suplex, cover and a kick out. Gangrel sent off the ropes, blocks a hip toss and delivers a belly to belly overhead. Henry gets the tag now, but Joey fights back with rights, then Henry with some only to be dropped throat first on the top rope. Henry choked over the middle rope, then Joey leaps toward Henry only to be crotched on the middle rope, Henry follows up with a clothesline. Joey choked over the middle rope now, then Henry drops himself over the back of Joey's neck, taking them both out of the ring. Henry rolls him back in, comes off the ropes with a splash and there's the third elimination.
Team Val vs Bulldog
Bulldog on the attack, Henry reverses a whip off the ropes into a press slam. Gangrel tags in, goes up top but gets crotched, then Bulldog with a superplex, cover and Bulldog gets an elimination.
3-on-1
Blackman in now with a backbreaker and a snap suplex. Blackman to the middle rope but misses a diving headbutt. Blackan reverses a whip sending Bulldog chest first into the corner, then goes for a roll up on the rebound but Bulldog slips free, followed by a fisherman suplex with the pin and Blackman's out.
2-on-1
Val in with a clothesline, stomping away now, then some rights. Bulldog sent off the ropes, catches Val with a sunset flip but Henry breaks up the pin. They send Bulldog off the ropes, ducks a double elbow and hits a double clothesline. Rights for Henry and Val back and forth, knocks Henry down but Val gets an inside cradle for a near fall. Val gets sent to the outside and Bulldog shoves Henry, Henry reverses a whip into the corner and hits a splash followed by a scoop slam and a splash. Val goes up top and hits the Money Shot for the win in 9:11. This one felt more like filler than anything else. Posse were a complete non-factor and Bulldog was just kinda... there.
We go to replays of the Money Shot as Val and Henry head to the back, then we go to the back.
Cole walks into the women's locker room who walks into Terri being topless, although she is covered up and apologizes for walking in on that. He goes to leave but Ivory pulls him back in and invites him to rub some kind of cream on her stomach but leaves before much else happens.
8-Woman Sudden Death Tag Team Match: Mae Young, The Fabulous Moolah, Tori & Debra vs Jacqueline, Luna, Terri Runnels & Ivory (WWF Women's Champion)
Moolah takes out Ivory before she even gets in the ring, then Mae is on her with left hands before Luna pulls her off and rolls her in the ring. Luna tosses her back out of the ring. Tori comes over and gets in ring taking down Luna. Jacqueline tags in and DDTs Tori, then a double suplex with Luna on Tori. Jacqueline with a snapmare and Luna tags back in with clubs and rakes the back. Ivory tags in, they send Tori off the ropes, she ducks a double clothesline and hits one of her own. Moolah tags in, Jaqueline comes in and goes after Tori, then Moolah with a snapmare and a scoop slam on Ivory, then her and Mae with a double clothesline, Moolah covers and wins in 53 seconds.
Debra and Terri go at it with Terri's top being ripped off, and Moolah gets her arm raised as she and teammates make their exit. Moolah raises Ivory's title for... reasons and threatens to hit Ivory with it, then they go at it, Mae trying to get in on it.
Lillian is standing by backstage with X-Pac who asks if he's ready to face a determined and angry Kane tonight. He says he is ready, but that he has nothing to prove tonight, that he's already proved everything he needs to against the big goof. He says he carried his ass for so long, that Kane knows he's better than he is, which is why he begged X-Pac to be his partner, and he says Kane has an inferiority complex, seven-foot something who's sexually frustrated, impotent, plus he can whip his ass at 6'1", 200-some pounds. He says to bring it on before walking off.
X-Pac vs Kane
Pre-Match Notes & Thoughts: As X-Pac makes his entrance, we get footage from Heat, where Cole interviewed Kane and Tori, who asks if it's more personal than about business. Tori says that the first rule about business is to take nothing personally, asking why Kane would take it personally, that X-Pac just stabbed him in the back, why when he was the only one standing behind X-Pac in his survival in the land of the giants, reiterating sarcastically that they don't at all take it personally. She brings up some remark X-Pac made about Kane and fire, saying that word on the street is that X-Pac has a little hose. Not a bad promo, but she sounded like a robot.
X-Pac attacks Kane from behind after he sets off his pyro, going right at him with shots to the face backing Kane into the corner for chops and rights, but they barely faze Kane, grabbing him by the neck and throws him into the corner for rights of his own. X-Pac whipped across the ring but sidesteps and delivers kicks to the midsection, followed by a spin kick to the face, but premature celebrating causes him to be hit with a clothesline. Kane picks him up by the throat with both hands until the ref forces a break, then whips him into the corner into a right hand. Kane goes up top but X-Pac hits him with a dropkick to the face, knocking Kane to the floor.
Elbow to the back off the apron, then Kane face first into the steps, then more kicks and rights until Kane delivers some of his own, but connects with the ring post as X-Pac ducks a shot. Back in the ring, Pac working the arm now, but Kane fights back with some uppercuts, Pac sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline and nails a spinning heel kick to the face, taking Kane down, only to sit back up immediately. X-Pac delivers another but it only staggers Kane into the corner, then a step up kick to the face drops Kane to the mat. X-Pac goes for the Bronco Buster but Kane gets him by the throat, only for Pac to kick himself free, come off the ropes into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Pac sent off the ropes into a big boot, then Kane goes back up top with a flying clothesline.
Kane delivers the chokeslam, covers but Road Dogg runs down and pulls him off from under the ropes. Kane goes after Roadie with a right hand, then X-Pac hits him with the X-Factor as he returns to the ring, but Kane kicks out. X-Pac goes up top for a crossbody but Kane catches him, goes for the Tombstone, but HHH runs in and nails Kane in the face with the WWF Title for the DQ in 4:18. It was a fine match for how short it was.
Triple taming now on Kane and they drag him into the corner for a Bronco Buster, but Tori runs down, only for X-Pac to nail her with a spinning heel kick not realizing who was behind him, to one hell of a gasp from the crowd. Kane scares off DX as he checks on Tori who's holding her head and neck. Doctors rush down to the ring as we get a replay of what happened. Kane helps her out of the ring before J.R. sends it to Cole.
He's standing by backstage with Rock ahead of his title match tonight. Rock starts to talk until HHH walks over and a fight breaks out, officials immediately on them to try and eventually succeed in breaking them apart.
4-on-1 Handicap Elimination Match: Prince Albert, Mideon, Viscera & The Big Boss Man (WWF Hardcore Champion) vs The Big Show
Pre-Match Notes & Thoughts: This was supposed to be a traditional 4-on-4 Survivor Series match, but I'll get to what happened to Show's partners in a minute. We have Prince Albert and Mideon make their way out for the next match, then we get a replay from the last Monday's Raw, where Boss Man had gotten a sympathy card for Big Show, who's dad had just recently passed away: "With the deepest regrets, and tears that are soaked, I'm sorry to hear your dad finally croaked. He lived a full life on his own terms, soon he'll be buried and eaten by worms." Then Viscera makes his way out, and we see the footage of Boss Man crashing Show's father's funeral. Then Boss Man makes his way out. Then as Boss Man comes out, we see footage from Heat where Show took out his teammates for tonight, Kaientai and the Blue Meanie, who were assigned to be his partners and he wanted to do this alone. J.R. does tell us that Show's dad received a proper funeral.
Show takes out Mideon with a clothesline, then sends Viscera into the corner with a side kick, then a headbutt to Albert sending him out of the ring. Chokeslam on Mideon, cover and elimination. Chokeslam on Albert, cover and elimination. Scoop slam on Viscera then a chokeslam, cover and elimination. Boss Man tries to sneak his way in and teases going in several times, but he just gets counted out and that's it in 1:25.
Boss Man runs off and Show heads to the back in chase as his music hits, then J.R. sends it back to Kevin Kelly.
He's standing by with Austin ahead of his title match but much like with Rock, HHH comes from behind and they start going at it briefly until Austin chases after him out of the camera's view. Then we catch up to Austin in the parking lot, and we have the infamous moment where Austin is run down. We have J.R. and Lawler practically speechless, J.R. having trouble finding the words. We cut back to Vince running to the parking lot and EMTs are already there, Steph and Test and Shane have arrived to check on Austin too, and it seem J.R. is on his way out there. Sgt. Slaughter next as Austin's loaded onto a stretcher with Vince yelling at the head of security. HHH comes in and Vince takes a shot at him, then DX are right behind and of course blame immediately falls on HHH, Vince telling him and DX to leave while they deny all guilt, Vince yelling they're gonna pay. Austin is eventually loaded into the evidence and Vince is going to accompany him to the hospital. Lawler recaps what went down while we wait for J.R. to return to the desk into the next match.
WWF Intercontinental Championship: Chris Jericho vs Chyna (c) (w/ Miss Kitty)
Pre-Match Notes & Thoughts: We get some kind of update from J.R. who tells us Austin was in and out of consciousness and trying to talk, concern of his head, neck and back and he's off to the local medical facility.
Jericho and Chyna go at it right away exchanging blows, Jericho shoves Kitty down who hasn't left the ring before Chyna takes him down with a clothesline, now stomping away and Kitty too sending Jericho out of the ring. Jericho with rights on Chyna before being whipped into the steps, then she flies off the steps only for Jericho to sidesteps and she hits the barricade. Jericho stomping away now before grabbing some camera cable to choke her a few seconds. Back in the ring, Chyna whipped face first into the corner, then some rights and boots by Jericho until the ref tells him off, then chokes her against the ropes. Chyna reverses a whip, Jericho ducks a clothesline but is elevated up and over, dropping throat first on the top rope. Chyna with forearms now in the corner, Jericho whipped across the ring turning upside down into a tree of woe, Chyna with a baseball slide to the face. More forearms, Jericho sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline into a waistlock, then Chyna, then Jericho tries a low bow which Chyna no sells. Chyna follows with a hurricanrana and some mounted rights, now some boots in the corner to the midsection, Jericho reverses a whip across the ring sending her over the ropes to the floor, then Jericho with a springboard crossbody to the outside.
Jericho with mounted rights calling her a bitch, then she's thrown over the announce table. Jericho pours a water bottle over her and face first into the table. Jericho pulls the top of the barricade off exposing the metal strip underneath and whips Chyna into it back first before laying in more right hands. Back in the ring, Jericho goes up top with a missile dropkick, cover and a near fall. Jericho with knees to the face, cover and a kick out. Scoop slam attempt by Jericho but Chyna turns it into an inside cradle for a near fall. Jericho with boots and kicks to the ribs, then a stalling suplex. Jericho with a cocky pin putting his foot on Chyna's chest for another two count. Chyna fighting back with forearms into the corner, Jericho reverses a whip into the corner and hits the bulldog, then a slingshot splash to the back from the apron into a cover and a two count. Chyna sent off the ropes into a spinning heel kick and a kip up before clotheslining Chyna to the outside.
Jericho lip locks Kitty as she gets in the way and stomps away at Chyna, now Kitty gets on his back only to be snapmared to the floor, then speared by Chyna who gets some shots in, before whipping Jericho into the ring post. Back in the ring, Jericho reverses a whip off the ropes, catches Chyna and delivers a powerbomb, folds her up but she kicks out, then hooks the legs but she kicks out again. Jericho goes for the Lionsault but she rolls out of the way, sends him off the ropes into a back elbow. Jericho reverses a whip into the corner but she rebounds with a clothesline. Jericho retreats to the corner and she delivers the springboard elbow and a DDT, cover and a kick out.
Boots by Chyna in the corner and the ref tries to pull her off but she shoves him away. Jericho grabs the title that was set down in the corner and nails Chyna in the face with it while the ref is down, covers and Chyna kicks out. Chyna reverses a whip off the ropes, and delivers the Pedigree, cover but Jericho kicks out. Chyna goes for a hurricanrana but Jericho drops her down for the Walls, she tries to make it to the ropes but he pulls her back to the middle, but makes it on the second attempt.
Jericho lifts Chyna to the top rope and joins her, but Kitty climbs the apron to distract the ref and Chyna low blows Jericho, then delivers... well it's supposed to be a top rope Pedigree but it's not executed all that great, she gets the cover and retains in 13:46. Crowd was weird in this one, couldn't make up their minds on if they wanted to cheer or boo Chyna. It was an alright match. I do appreciate the fact that J.R. was still selling Austin being run over, barely able to concentrate on the match because of it.
Chyna and Kitty leave with the title as Jericho lays flat on his back, then we cut away.
We see Steph, Shane, Test and the Stooges backstage when there's a knock on their door, and in walk HHH and X-Pac. Shane wants none of it wanting them to leave while they try to tell him to relax. They want Vince but he's still at the hospital with Austin, Shane once more accusing them of being responsible for it. HHH explains that that's why they're there, once more denying guilt, admitting to setting Austin up but were not responsible for running him down, calling it a tragedy. He does ask for reassurance that it's not a triple threat anymore, and Shane can't believe the nerve of him, saying he doesn't know what he'll do and tells them to leave.
Traditional 4-on-4 Survivor Series Tag Team Match: The Hollys & Too Cool vs Edge, Christian & The Hardy Boyz (w/ Terri Runnels)
Pre-Match Notes & Thoughts: It's so weird hearing Too Cool coming out to such a lukewarm reaction, especially considering the reaction they get come the Rumble in MSG a couple months later.
Scotty and Edge start things out, shoving each other than trading shots until Edge backs him in the corner, whipped across the ring only to lift himself up and over, now backing Edge into the corner with some chops. Edge turns it around with some of his on, trading one back and forth. Scotty reverses a whip off the ropes, some leapfrogs back and forth until Scotty is thrown over to the apron, flips over, ducks a clothesline into a spinning heel kick.
Crash gets the tag right into a drop toe hold and Matt tags in, Crash sent off the ropes, launched up and drops down, Matt covers for a one count. Crash sent throat first onto the top rope, then a back suplex by Matt for a cover and a kick out, then an elbow and another cover and another kick out. Crash face first into the corner, sent across the ring, tries to catch Matt in a headscissor but gets crotched on the top rope before getting knocked to the outside, followed by a slingshot crossbody by Matt. He tries to return to the ring but Sexay comes in and delivers a sunset flip from the apron to the floor, then Christian takes him out with a crossbody off the top, then Scotty with a cannonball off the apron. Hardcore and Edge in, Edge with clotheslnes, Hardcore sent off the ropes into a back drop. Edge with shots to his opponents on the apron, then a spear on Hardcore, then one for Crash. Sexay gets sent into the corner but Sexay sidesteps, then Mat takes Scotty into the opposite corner. Sexay celebrates prematurely and Edge nails him with the spear. He goes to hit Scotty with one but he leapfrogs and Edge nails Matt instead. Jeff comes in for a Twist of Fate on Scotty but gets shoved into Edge instead, then Hardcore slides in to roll up Edge for an elimination. Then Scotty comes off the top with a DDT on a standing Matt for another elimination

Christian vs Hollys
Hardcore in now with a suplex, then Crash tags in, off the top with a fist drop, cover and a kick out. Christian face first in the corner, Crash with boots to the midsection, then yanks Christian up then back down. He's sent off the ropes into a drop toe hold, float back into a Boston crab and Hardcore drops an elbow to the back, then starts stomping away. Hardcore with boots in the corner, then Christian with some, Hardcore reverses a whip across the ring but Christian gets a boot up, only to run into a powerslam, cover and a kick out. Christian vs Hardcore
Hardcore throws Crash out, Christian ducks a clothesline, goes for a suplex but Hardcore blocks, then goes for one but slips free, goes for the inverted DDT but Hardcore escapes, gets Christian up for the electric chair and Christian tries to fight free. He rolls forward trying for a victory roll but Hardcore drops down into a roll up of his own and becomes the sole survivor in 14:27. I enjoyed that one, well paced, given plenty of time.
Hardcore celebrates before J.R. sends it to the back.
Shane is standing by with Steph and Test behind him with an update on Austin, who just got off the phone with Vince. He's in the emergency room and did not lose consciousness, but has suffered severe head, neck and back trauma, undergoing a lot of tests and in a lot of pain. J.R. asks what's going to happen with the main event, if it'll be a one-on-one match now. Shane says that it won't be, that it will be a triple threat, just not with Austin.
WWF Tag Team Championship: The New Age Outlaws (c) vs Al Snow & Mankind
Mankind and Billy start this out, but Mick gets a mic first and states for the record that, as someone who knows him pretty well, that Austin is one tough son of a bitch. He says as soon as the match is over they'll be thinking of him all the way, but until then he and Al will be thinking of one thing, well two things, that being the Outlaws' asses.
Finally things actually get started with a lock up, Billy backed into the corner until the ref pulls them apart. Another lock up, Mick now backed into the corner, but Billy now with boots to the midsection after they're pulled apart, then some rights. Mick now with some rights, then Billy ducks a clothesline and hits a neckbreaker, cover and a kick out. Mick sent off the ropes and Billy catches him with a sleeper hold, Mick breaking the hold by tumbling through the ropes to the floor.
Trading rights until Roadie nails him from behind, Billy holds up Mick as Roadie goes for a right but Mick ducks and he clocks Billy instead. Back in the ring, Al and Roadie tag in, Roadie with shots now knocks Al to the mat. Al reverses a whip off the ropes into a jawbreaker, hen some shots for Roadie and Billy. Al now stomping away before tossing him back in the ring, Mick stomping away now before applying a chinlock. Roadie fights back to his feet but Mick drives him back down with rights, then face first into the mat. Roadie face first into Al's knee before he gets the tag, rapid boots to the midsection then stomps. Mick tags back in, Roadie sent off the ropes and Mick with a knee lift, cover and a near fall.
Al tags in again, but Roadie gets back into it as he goes for Shake, Rattle and Roll, but Al catches his arms on the last shot, delivering rapid headbutts in the process. Roadie sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline and successfully follows through with the Roll this time. He tries to make the tag but Al gets hold of his foot, holding him back, then Mick comes in dropping the elbow to the back. Billy comes in and throws shots at Al and Mick to save Roadie, taking Al to one corner while Roadie goes after Mick in the other. Mick is sent to the outside while Billy continues on the attack and tosses Al to the outside too.
Al carried and dropped face first onto the announce table as Roadie goes face first into the aisle barricade. Al whipped into the barricade as Roadie comes over before Billy rolls Al to the apron, an elbow into the chest, then off the apron, before catapulting him throat first into the bottom rope. Roadie comes off the apron with a club to the back, then Al's rolled back in. Roadie tags in, boots in the corner and rights on Al, whipped across the ring hard into the opposite corner. Al whipped across the ring again, Roadie with more kicks to the chest. Al fights back with rights but get sent across the ring, stops short and takes out Roadie with a clothesline.
Billy and Mick get the tag, Mick with right hands for both. Al goes after Billy in one corner, Roadie whipped into the corner but gets a boot up. Ref is dealing with Al and Billy delivers the Fame Asser, Roadie makes the cover but Mick gets the shoulder up. Roadie goes for a pumphandle but Mick gets him with a low blow, then a double arm DDT on Billy, as Al hits the Snow Plow on Roadie. Mick pulls out Mr. Socko and gets the claw on Billy, then one on Roadie, but the ref's attention is to Al so they hit him with a double low blow. Al nails Billy in the head with Head, Mick rolls over and drapes the arm but Billy kicks out.
Al and Roadie going at it on the outside as Mick delivers rights, Al whipped into the steps. Billy reverses a whip into the ropes and Roadie trips Mick up, then goes to the middle rope as the Outlaws deliver the spike piledriver, Billy covers and they retain in 13:59. It was an alright match, though it was confusing at times. It seemed like Al and Mick were almost playing the heels for most of this match.
Outlaws leave with their titles as Mick and Snow recover in the ring. J.R. and Lawler recap the events of the night concerning Austin, and Vince is still at the hospital even though he's supposed to be the referee for the title match, plus we still don't know who the 3rd man is. We get a replay of Austin getting run over. Lawler can see a blonde person driving the car.
Triple Threat Match for the WWF Championship: The Rock vs Triple H (c) vs ???

Rock and HHH start to trade rights until Show pulls the former out of the ring, then tries to send Rock into the ring post only to hit himself. HHH off the apron with a shot to the Rock, now Rock with right hands before dropping HHH face first onto the barricade. Show with a boot to the chest of Rock before tossing HHH back in the ring, and a headbutt for Rock. Show choking HHH with his boot in the corner, HHH sent across the ring and misses an elbow, Rock in with a Russian leg sweep before tossing HHH out of the ring. Rock pulls Show into position and nails the People's Elbow, covers but HHH breaks it up.
Rock face first into the corner, HHH with boots to the midsection, choking him with his boot down on the mat. More rights by HHH, then rakes Show's eyes. Rock sends HHH off the ropes who gets Rock with a facebuster, sending him into Show for a sidewalk slam. Show tosses HHH out now and kicks him up the aisle and a right hand, fighting up toward the entrance set. HHH is press slammed into a metal guard rail and Rock runs down with a clothesline, taking Show out, then stomping away at HHH. He goes face first into the barricade and they fight to the tech area, HHH just falling through a table after some right hands. HHH sent face first into the metal entrance set, only to whip Rock into a barricade and takes him out with a clothesline.
Show back up with some headbutts for HHH, a knee to the face. Show goes for Rock now who nails him in the face with a fire extinguisher. HHH goes for a suplex on the floor but Rock gets him instead. Show is back up and tries for a chokeslam but HHH gets him with a low blow from behind. Rock drags HHH back toward the ring but HHH gets him with a back suplex halfway down. Meanwhile Show is back with a headbutt to HHH, then a right for Rock as they return to ringside, HHH whipped by Show into the steps, then sends him into the other steps. HHH face first off the announce table, then Rock spits some water in HHH's face, only to be sent face first into the barricade. HHH dropped face first on the announce table, then Rock rakes his eyes before nailing Show in the head with the ring bell. HHH tries to suplex Show through the Spanish table, but then Rock comes over and they succeed in taking Show out.
Rock clotheslines HHH over the barricade and now they start to fight through the crowd, HHH though gets the advantage with rights, but Rock rakes the eyes and they fight further in back toward the entrance, until Rock knocks HHH back into the ringside area. Back in the ring, Show is stirring as Rock stomps in the corner, HHH pulls back on an Irish whip, but Rock tries to clothesline him, only for HHH to duck and Hebner gets nailed instead.
Rock is sent into the corner, then tries for the Rock Bottom, but slips free and goes for the Pedigree, but Rock trips him up and catapults HHH into the corner, catching him off the rebound with the Rock Bottom. Rock makes the cover but Hebner's been taken out. Shane rushes out wearing a ref shirt, makes the count but HHH kicks out. Rock gets in his face, but catches HHH for another Rock Bottom, cover but Show yanks Shane out. Rock out now with rights, but goes face first into the announce table. Show clubbing and elbowing the back. Show in the ring now with headbutts sends HHH into the corner, then throws HHH across the ring. Show leaves the ring again and goes after Rock, but Rock fights back, only to be whipped into the steps.
HHH has grabbed the title, but Shane takes it away from him, so HHH takes him out with a Pedigree. Rock returns to the ring and DDT's HHH, but Show with an elbow to the Rock's face, then drops one on HHH. DX now run down and go right for Show and Rock, but Vince is back and out he comes. Show gets Billy and chokeslams him. Vince grabs the title, swings for HHH but he ducks, then turns back around as Show is there and Vince nails him. Show delivers the chokeslam, covers, Vince counts the three and we have a new champion in 16:17. Well as a match this wasn't great, since Show wasn't exactly putting on great matches. Rock and HHH did what they could. That said though, it is a nice feel good story, seeing as Show just had his dad pass away, then he had Boss Man tormenting him and humiliating him, so I'll give this match a pass.
DX helps HHH to the back as Vince checks on Shane, Show getting emotional as he celebrates. Rock is seen pissed at ringside as he looks on from ringside, and has some words with Vince. We get replays. More celebrating as the show fades out.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
Well... This show was mostly forgettable I think aside from 3 matches on the show, that being the IC and tag titles, plus that last Survivor Series tag match. The rest weren't bad just nothing all that special. Main event wasn't great but willing to let it pass given the feel good moment. That said, with a run time of 2:38:14, this show had a total 1:29:50 of wrestling on this show.
Unfortunately, Show's title reign would be as forgettable as winning it. He'd defend it at Armageddon the next month against Boss Man in a terrible match, then would lose the title to HHH either right before or after the New Year. He'd beat Rock at No Way Out to get into the Mania main event, but he'd just become an afterthought in that match anyways. If you've been following my WWF/WCW 2000 series, you know where Show went after that.
HHH would marry a drugged Steph in the meantime, and he and Vince would have a No Holds Barred Match (I think) at the PPV, where Steph would align with her new husband and begin the McMahon-Helmsley Era. HHH would have his brutal Street Fight and Cell matches the following months and retain his title in the aforementioned Mania main event, holding onto the title until Backlash the next month, and win it back the month after that at Judgement Day.

Scotty tags in, Jeff sent off the ropes into that double team neckbreaker they hit before, Scotty covers but Christian breaks it up. Hollys drive him into the corner, then we get arguing between the Hollys as Too Cool go after Jeff. Terri gets on the apron and distracts Sexay and the ref tends to her, while Too Cool go for a double team suplex off the top, but Christian takes advantage of the ref distraction to nail a double low blow. Scotty is knocked to the mat while Sexay lands on the outside, Jeff just barely hits the 450 Splash for an elimination.

Hardcore in now with a suplex, then Crash tags in, off the top with a fist drop, cover and a kick out. Christian face first in the corner, Crash with boots to the midsection, then yanks Christian up then back down.
Mick tags in, rapid rights in the corner drops Roadie to the mat, then followed by a running knee before tossing Roadie to the floor. Al gets a chair and jabs Roadie in the ribs as the ref tends to Billy, then Roadie's whipped into a clothesline by Mick, who cracks him over the back with the chair.

HHH tries to suplex Show through the Spanish table, but then Rock comes over and they succeed in taking Show out.
